A slate wall behind the bar + lush furniture + trendy cocktails = one of Seattle's favorite lounges, Viceroy. Does this all sound pretentious? It isn't. Viceroy is a great fun, friendly lounge/bar that has that right combination of retro-hip lounge with down-to-earth comforts.
From the street, Viceroy looks like a small tidy bar, but when you enter it you feel as though you have been thrown back in time. With 70's decor and bottomless goldfish bowls (yum!) the bar is a pleasant mixture of couches to lounge on and plenty of bar space to stand and talk.
The music is downtempo lounge music with live DJ's spinning near the bar (check the website for event listings). While crowded, there are friendly servers walking around who are happy to get your drinks and help you avoid the fight up to the bar. And the drinks, ahh the drinks! Definitely try out some from their drink menu, their cucumber cocktail is a nice refreshing treat.
With its intimate ambiance, attentive service and tasty drinks, Viceroy is the perfect place to gather for an evening of cocktails. Of course, as it is in Belltown (on 2nd between Bell and Battery) come prepared to spend time looking for parking. Also - drinks aren't cheap here, so know you might need some extra cash for the night.
The Viceroy is open daily from 5pm-2am.
