Anyway, beyond all that, the bartenders are very nice & friendly. (The next time you stop in, look for Sammy! He’ll hook you up.) And the clientele? It’s a very equal mix of men & women….The women are nice-lookin’ without seeming too hoochy & without being too, like, “Hey, look at me! I’m a ho!!” And the guys are nicely-dressed yet casual--like regular neighborhood guys out to have a good time---without seeming like cracked-out riff-raff….Now, I wouldn’t say this is a place where a lot of “hot people” would automatically think to go to. But if you feel like dressing up in a nice shirt & jeans or a nice dress--without doing the whole Botox ritual & all that crap---then Scorpion is a GREAT place to come to!
And oh! What’s a neighborhood bar if it doesn’t have its great nightly themes! And tonight, L’Scorpion boasts that it’s “Industry Sunday”!! They have entertainment!....As soon as you walk in, there’s some singer/guitarist playing right next to the front door and--he’s really not that good….But that’s okay because everyone in the bar feels comfortable enough to just relax & listen to it---while knockin’ back an array of margaritas & gettin’ SLOSHED! (Honestly, I don’t know if there’s a pre-arranged set-list of performers, but it seems like to me---if you’ve brought a guitar, then more than likely you can get up and entertain as well.)
Also on “Industry Sunday,” all drinks are half-off from 6pm-8pm. If you order dinner, you get a free pitcher of margarita. And if you submit a business card, you get a free tequila shot---anytime during the night!….On Mondays, it’s Karaoke Night, which is always a fun time. Especially when you get a FREE DRINK WHEN YOU GET UP & SING!!! (What other bar can you think of that offers that on their Karaoke night?)….Then, on Friday & Saturday nights, there’s a live DJ spinning the wheels of current hits!
So come on, everybody! Go to L’Scorpion!! It has a great vibey-vibe. It’s one of the best places to be if you’re looking for an easy-going good time. It’s a cool neighborhood hang-out to just chill, and there’s actually room to move around in it. The food is delicious, the drinks are excellent. And---it’s on the Hollywood Strip without the pretentious Hollywood Strip b.s. & pretentious Hollywood Strip prices!....In essence, L’Scorpion is a nice little hideaway from all the Hollywood madness.
